Pentacomp’s solution for vehicle license plates provides a comprehensive system for the personalization and issuance of high security retro reflective number plates. Our system is user-friendly facilitating the management and control of the process of registration orders, license plates personalization, and the distribution process. The core of the solution is a robust and streamlined database that can serve as the registry for all vehicles. Additionally, our solution can be integrated into any existing automated plate manufacturing process, allowing operations to continue seamlessly.
Features of the MOTO-ID EVR SYSTEM
License Plate Personalization Application
The application is used for tracking the printing of blank license plates with ordered registrations. Users can view the status/count of different pending tasks once they log into the application. The counts are displayed on top of the respective process icons.
Emboss Module
Once vehicle registration details are validated and sent to the personalization order queue, the license plates are printed using the Emboss module. Users can assign which pairs of machines will be used to emboss their chosen plate with the relevant region.
QA (Quality Assurance) Module
After the vehicle license plates are embossed, they are checked for errors using the QA Module. Quality is ensured at different levels by physical and electronic (Barcode Reading Test) checks. All plates are matched with the database to ensure the perfect size and color of the plate, and to also guarantee the appropriate positioning of letters and numbers on the plate. Matches are identified based on unique serial numbers that are barcoded on each plate.
Dispose Module
During the QA phase, if an error is found, the license plates are scanned and shredded using the Dispose Module. This updates the inventory accordingly and generates a re-print order.
License Plate Inventory and Transport Management System
Stock Module
Boxes containing blank vehicle license plates can either be scanned or entered manually using the Stock Module. It records the starting serial number of the plates and total number of plates so that each plate is accounted for.
If there are any errors during the scanning process, such as the same box being scanned twice, the application will display an error message and there will also be an audible prompt. The audible prompt will alert the user scanning the items even if the user is not looking at the screen while scanning.
Pack Module
The vehicle license plates are packed once they have undergone personalization and passed the QA phase, using the Pack Module. Users will first select the Destination of the items. The items are then scanned and added to the list one-by-one.
Transport Module
Once the license plates have been packaged, they are ready to be distributed to their respective subdivision. Each package is transported using the Transport module and shipped to the station from which it was originally ordered. The destination of where the boxes will be transported is selected before scanning.
Receive Module
The Receive module is also used when a delivery is received at a particular destination. Boxes containing vehicle license plates are scanned when they are received. A region is pre-selected and boxes that have been delivered to the wrong place can be identified during the scanning process. Also, it informs the system of license plates that are ready for delivery to the end-user.
General license plate characteristics
The number plates consist of retro-reflective sheeting laminated to a minimum 99.0 % aluminum substrate, which is then embossed and hot stamped. Aluminum is treated on the front-side, and the rear-side has an anti-corrosion varnish.
Retro-reflective sheeting, when bonded to the aluminum substrate, can withstand embossing and shows no signs of cracking, blistering, peeling off, de-lamination or defects.
All mechanical and optical properties of the retro-reflection comply with the international standard ISO 7591:1982
The license plate forms a solid unit and, to avoid the infiltration of humidity or de-lamination of single parts of the plate the letters and numbers are embossed without cutting the foil.
The number plate has an embossed rim and letters/characters.
Vehicle License Plate Security Features
The license plates have the following features:
- Special laser engraved image with CLI effect.
- Depending on the angle of divergence, the inscription of one of the two different images appear in the same place of the blank license plate;
- Laser engraved serial number of each blank license plate, which represents an order number and allows the identification of the origin of the license plate and the date of its manufacturing, as well as to distinguish authentic license plates from counterfeited or unauthorized ones.
- Laser engraved “MD” mark, applied over the whole area of the blank license plate with an interval of 100 mm;
- Laser engraved “R” mark, applied over the whole area of the blank license plate with an interval of 100 mm;
- Barcode, which will encode the information about the type of the license plate, serial number of the blank license plate, and a special number that shall confirm the blank license plate authenticity. Bar code format: “code 128”. The bar code dimension: height maximum 10 mm, width maximum 90 mm. The bar code should be positioned on the reverse side of the blank license plate and applied during the manufacturing of blank license plates;
- Manufacturer’s identification mark (manufacturer’s trademark) that must be performed on the reverse side of the blank license plate. Application method – embossing.
- Diffractive optical variable image device (DOVID) that contains the serial number of the blank license plate.
